Public Biography

The Syagrius Family has a long and checkered history in the Registered Megalopolis of Des Ponticelles. The opportunities boom systems have in border regions are as lucrative as merciless. A pragmatic philosophy allowed the Syagrius family to thrive. Unlike many, need, not desire, drove James to the "Capsule." Having one of your own in the heavens became a necessary edge for a hardscrabble trading family trying to survive against determined and often unscrupulous competitors.

Being very protective of his family, little information is known about James's wife, Lellah, the Daughter of Hygelic. However, it is known that she was born on Mishi IV but educated in the Federation. She is the daughter of Hygelic A'Dal, a wealthy Ni-Kunni businessman of dubious reputation. Since their separation, she has lived in virtual isolation in her father's compound on Mishi IV

James's son, Robert, was killed defending the Tovil District during the States, return to Caldari Prime. It is rumored that Roberts's body was recovered from a mass grave and returned to the Syagrius family during the States' military occupation. How this was accomplished is unknown. However, it is rumored that unnamed Capsuleers loyal to the State assisted in the "return."

James' father, also named Robert, was a successful businessman and an infamously corrupt planetary councilman. His pursuit of power and status ruined the family's finances. Despite his flaws, he was a kind, devoted husband who drank too much and occasionally lashed out at the pitiless universe.

James's mother was the troublesome and beautiful daughter of an Amarrian Holder. Her name has been withheld to avoid scandal and protect the family's reputation within the Empire. She came to the Federation to study and escape the rigors of the "Imperial" life. There, she met and then married James' father. She was a doting and devoted mother, teaching her children to thrive in the world that was, not the world that should be.

Politics: James has always held firm political convictions. He unostentatiously supported the administration of former President Jacus Roden and maintains unique relations with the Federal Intelligence Office (FIO). Despite his questionable affiliations, James always supports "Federal" interests, occasionally in unorthodox, illegal, or unethical ways.

While James did not openly endorse any candidate in the latest election, he has stated that he is content with President Celes Aguard's concentration on 'Unity, Security, and Diversity' resurgence in the concept of federated government.

Religion: The Syagrius Family has traditionally been devotees of Botesse and Remelac, two of the 'Seventeen Luminaries' within the Imperial Garoun Pantheon. James's mother was a devout but reformed adherent of the Amarr faith. While James's beliefs are unknown, he maintains a shrine to Botresse and Remelac within the confines of the walls of the old city of Caille. He has also visited the Abel Jarek Seminary site and is known to support various humanitarian causes associated with the Church of Blessed Servitude.

Recently, in YC 121, James purchased the Bravati family estate, which included the centuries-old Villa. Despite the opposition of local residents and Intaki cultural preservation groups, the Villa was demolished and replaced with a state-of-the-art complex incorporating contemporary and traditional elements in a neo-classical Garounian architectural style. The new Villa features numerous colonnades and is situated in an ancient olive orchard on a peninsula extending into Lake Crucis in Intaki V's northern hemisphere. The 'Syagrian' estate has since expanded to encompass virtually the lake's entire northern and western shoreline. Despite resistance from influential individuals, James was granted Intaki citizenship in YC 125.
